Q. What is a standard flag size?
A. For the Canadian flag the most common size is 3'X6'. The proportion for the Canadian flag is always 2 to 1. For the sake of uniformity, almost all of our National, International and Provincial flags are 2:1 in proportion.
Q. What are the rules of protocol for flying the Canadian flag?
A. The federal government has produced an online version of their Flag Etiquette in Canada Handbook. Just remember that when flying multiple flags in Canada, the Canadian flag takes the most prominent position & usually being of larger size and flown on the top. For our U.S. customers, the same rule would obviously apply to your national flag.
Q. What size flag should I get for my existing pole?
A. For an 18 foot pole we recommend a 27"X54" flag. For flag poles in the 20 to 24 foot range we recommend a 36"X72" flag. For those really BIG poles, The Flag Store can provide you with a flag as large as 20X40 feet!
Q. How long will a flag last?
A. A flag should last for at least one season. Weather conditions will determine if it will last longer & in most cases it will. Remember winter conditions and freezing rain can be particularly hard on flags.
Q. Are heavy-weight nylon and polyester flags comparable in durability?
A. Absolutely!
Q. How long does it take to produce a custom flag?
A. Usually two weeks, however we will always do our best to meet any delivery requirement.
Q. What is a Pennant String?
A. Pennant strings consist of a series of small pennant flags sewn together on a long string. They can be used for attention getters and are most often seen in car lots.
Q. Are plain coloured action flags as effective at promoting a business location as a logo flag?
A. Blue Green Red and Yellow action flags can certainly add to your business' visibility, but they don't communicate a unique message about your company. If you're on a budget, consider mixing action flags with custom flags that deliver a strong message about your company or organization.
Q. How do I clean a flag? Can it be ironed?
A. Flags can be hand washed in a mild detergent. You can iron flags at the lowest heat setting. However, we recommend hanging a flag in the steam of a hot shower to remove wrinkles.
Q. Do you provide installation services?
A. We can install anything we sell - at very competitive rates. We have all the equipment required (including a 35' reach bucket truck) and our professional installation team is experienced in handling any size job.
Q. Do you rent flags?
A. Yes, our standard size 3'X6' flags are available for all nationalities. A base and pole kit can also be rented. We ship across the country to many venues including conventions, corporate meetings and business launches. |
